Club History

Sitting in a bar in the small town of Kirchhayn, Turtle and 6 others decided to start a car club. That was back in 2003, with Don Balsusik, Dan Kufahl, and a few others. That was the beginning of the Kirchhayn Cruisers Car Club. Since then, the club has grown to become the largest car club in Washington County, topping 130 members in 2011. As some members have left us, new members sign up every year, keeping us growing. There have been many reasons for the success of the club. Some can be attributed to the easy membership requirements, low yearly dues and camaraderie between the members. Management of club funds allows us to host an annual club picnic for our members. Our yearly club participation show is partnered with other club’s shows, which provides them with a higher turnout and relieves us of the planning and expense of hosting a car show of our own. Our yearly newsletter began with one page. Now it is six pages and includes a pull-out calendar of events and a member business directory to help promote businesses within the club. Local businesses sponsor our club which pays for our website. The addition of the website in 2010…
